  1. Hi all (second attempt as website seemed to crashed) I am having issues with my Carphone, I have put a sim card into it and low and behold the phone makes and receives calls!! only issues that i have are, it doesn't ring (i have made sure it is not on mute and volume is up) and when i press the telephone button it states on the touch screen that there is not one connected?... (i read something about disconnecting the battery which i did for around 5 mins but it didn't work, maybe for longer?) also on another note (not sure if they are related) but my satnav has no voice either other than that it all seems to work ok (apart from missing some roads but i have the new cd on order) any help and advice would be much appreciated (would rather not take it to my local Jag dealer otherwise i will have to go back to work sooner than planned ha ha) Kindest regards Tim
  2. nice! it is a tricky question..... but i think red
  3. Thats great! still going strong after all those miles, you must look after her well
  4. it should be in a hidden compartment on the left side about a foot or so inside, there is a trim coloured door, might be a multi changer in there too. As i have an old disk i have just ordered the apparently Last and final update disk (2012) http://www.mapdiscs.co.uk/#!product-page/cg7d/f657d2fa-4731-3719-9654-9f4016dbdfea Hope this helps Tim
  5. Hi Peter haha yeah, also good for tailgaters! alas he actually has one, at least i will get to use my lovely new Dremel again (hoorah!) Tim
  6. Very nice Steve, Hand painting the name will be a little tricky. I just read the link on the exhausts, bet they will sound great! I know what you mean about the letters on the boot, i always forget they are there until i open it. Always a bit daunting working on the dash of something so electrical, i actually got money off mine for a few things but one of them was the multi changer in the boot, which i managed to fix when i got home, pure fluke of course and the same goes for the sat nav, although the CD i have is 2002 so many roads are not on there. I think that is the sound of your new sports boxes is good, that will be my next thing, i do enjoy the sound of the V6 already Today i will actually be buying some fibreglass woven sheets and epoxy to fix my fathers rear bumper on his Land cruiser as he had a fight with a small post and apparently lost... he has parking sensors but turns them off because they are annoying haha
  7. Im trying to get the voice on the sat nav to work and I want to do something about the sound quality, its not great, i can't work the in car phone on the screen either, it tells me that i don't have one, which is annoying and buy some new wheels maybe? I like yours, are they 18"? What do you have planned?
  8. Hi Steve, Normally i would have had several beers making the job last a lot longer but i had sadly i had to drive to my brothers after, where we had a large amount of beers, rum and a curry, today i can't look a beer in the eye Tim
  9. The epoxy is a putty (it should come with the mesh grill if you got it from the same guy as me) 3 pellets of it. Anyway this is used to put into where the clips that you have to cut on the back of the grill to connect the surround to the grill (sandwiching the mesh between them) if that makes sense... I'm a little dusty today
  10. I have the same, thanks. also you might want to get that rust sorted, even if you just brush it with a wire brush and slap some hammerite on it sour stop it rusting though for a while 😊

  12. The only issues I had were: making the first cut haha And I decided to epoxy it first then pair the areas I cut while I waited for it to stick, It just made things a little awkward. But in saying that, if I did it again it would be perfect, so if anyone wants me to do it for them then just ask, I could buy and old grill, update it like this and then post the entire unit to them so all they have to do it take the four screws out and screw the new one in 😊

  14. Thanks both, so maybe i should look at some 18", most important think is that I'm comfy, i have upgraded wheels on cars before and found it to be teeth shattering haha. My brother has 20" on his F type, i love the way they look
  15. Hi Steve, So i have done it (pictures below) please excuse the cable ties still on, I'm waiting for the epoxy to set. A dremel is a hobby tool i suppose, it will pretty much cut, sand and drill any material with a million different heads (also great for grinding back rust)l, I am actually a Private yacht/ship officer and in my younger years a bit of a shipwright working my way up through the ranks so i have a fair amount of experience with a tool like this, anyway what do you think? took me about a hour to do after i stopped fussing around with cups of coffee and rain coats (typical Welsh weather but then at least its not snowing)
  16. passenderside for sure! but i like the chrome on them too :)
  17. Thanks Russ will check it out now
  18. Morning Steve, I went and bought a dremel yesterday, then went and had her breaks sorted, needed new disk and pads on the from, this ended up taking 3 hours due to having to order them etc, so I'm about to start it now, i have taken the grill off already i have a coffee in hand
  19. Just after a bit of advice on lights. The head lights on the passengers side of the car are broken (bulbs work but no longer attached inside properly and move around) so the entire unit will need to be replaced, i see this is a bigger job on the s type than many other cars haha) but i was wondering, should i go for the normal ones (currently on the car) or the xeons ones? Thanks
  20. Not such a dumb question it would seem
  21. Hi, So i dug out the spare wheel from the boot the yesterday only to find it is different to the alloys on the car both are 17". I would like to purchase some of these 10 spoke ones, can anyone recommend somewhere? I have tried eBay, gumtree and a couple of breakers but not able to find 4 good ones. Or what wheels do you think look best? (even if its neither of these) What is the ride like on 18' wheels? All help will be much appreciated
  22. just outside of Cardiff in Wales
  23. I'm back in the uk sunday so will attach it monday, your advice is priceless, i will make sure i have spare liquorish and beer haha Happy New Year
  24. Thanks Steve this was very helpful, yeah i bet the first cut is the worst, did you have to sand down the leftover from the cuts?
