  1. On my XF. Turned off the auto wipe for wipers and auto head lamps off..Windscreen covered in frost so don't want them working over an icy screen when 1st starting! The auto head lamps I turn off because the 1st thing you do after the windscreen has defrosted is to give a squirt of washer and if the head lamps are on and fitted with washers the pop out washer in the bumper can be frozen to the bumper and ends up with the motor pushing and snapping the cover off.
  2. Brake Pads & rotors are classed as consumables and not included in manufacturer warranties so don't be fooled by the service department telling you otherwise? The same goes for tyres, bulbs ect? If supplied and fitted by Jaguar you might? Be lucky to make a claim if they become defective within a few months of fitting. I have just had the wishbones arms replaced under warranty on my 13 reg sportbrake and that is fitted with EBC red pads and rotors on all 4 corners.
  3. It makes no difference whether the map can be taken out or not! The XF ECU can only be 'Bluefin mapped' by removing the ECU opening it up and bypassing the Standard factory set parameters to enable the remapping. Normal Jaguar servicing even if they did for any reason reflash the ECU can not tell if it has been remapped. The problem arises if you blow up the engine or gearbox and Jaguar HQ technicians become involved as they will at 1st port of call ould be to remove the ECU to check its not been tampered with? If by choice then I would chose the Quantum Tuning remap over Bluefin which is cheaper than the bluefin + more BHP as it is individually wrote for each car! There red map will up a 240bhp to 300+ better mpg. and if the map is corrupted by Jaguar servicing there agents will remap for free. Plus they give a years engine warranty.
  4. Hi Paul That model 30D is not a very common xf most were sold as company cars for junior executives. £395 for a tuning box is a rip-off price! For something which will just change the fuelling as the parameters inside the ECU will still be factory standard and will probably end up messing the particle filters. Best have the ECU remapped by someone like Quantum Tuning who will remove the ECU and open the box and rewrite a map and change parameters to suite your requirement? There agents will do at you home address by removing your ECU and send the factory map to there HQ and a safe tuning remap is sent by return and installed. For less cost than a tuning?Box.
  5. Just to say hi to all?..Current car XF 3.0D Sportbrake Portfolio
