  1. Hi everyone, My car is a 2015 XFS. My In Control app stopped working on the 31st January (subscription is valid till Feb 2021). It no longer logs journeys and says my car is still parked at the location I was when it stopped working. For a while I could contact the car and start it via the app but I got no feedback from the car saying it was running. The beep and flash also worked. A couple of days ago the app indicated that the car was in sleep mode and couldn't be contacted. Starting the car should have fixed this but it doesn't. I have done all of the usual stuff......logged out and in, uninstalled and reinstalled the app but nothing works. Have contacted Jag In Control who have got back to me and say the car needs a software update and I need to book it into a dealer (expensive!!) I think the back up battery for the app could need replacing but I can't find where it is located in the car, Does anyone know or does anyone have any ideas how this fault might be fixed? Cheers, Rob
  2. Really struggling to find a solution to this fault. Took it to an independent dealer in Birmingham this morning who put the diagnostic computer on it. It comes up with "LIN bus A message missing". The guy doesn't know what this means but is trying to find out. Anyone have any ideas??? Cheers, Rob.
  3. Latest on this one. Drivers side window regulator cable snapped 10 days ago (there had been a buzzing when I was driving). £150 for a new one but was able to fit it myself. Lo and behold the passenger side went 2 days later. Another £150!!! Rob
  4. Thanks Kenny, I'm an automation and controls engineer so I went for the most likely fault. This is a bit strange because the lumbar support control works Ok but non of the seat positioning buttons work. I'll let you know if I find anything. Does anyone have (or know where I can get) the circuit diagrams for the XF? Cheers, Rob.
  5. Hi Folks, I have a 2009 XFS and recently the drivers side electric seat has stopped working. There is no indication on the memory selector unit in the door. I thought it would most likely be a blown fuse but I have checked them today and they are all good. Anyone got any ideas of where to start looking next? Loathe to put it to the garage and they would probably see it as an open cheque book!! Cheers, Rob.
  6. Hi guys, I have had my XF for over 4 years and the tyre pressure warning indication came on pretty much when I got the car. On another forum I was advised to let all of the tyres down to around 2 bar so that all of the tyres indicated low pressure. When you have done this, start the engine and inflate the tyres to their normal pressure. This works but after a few weeks the false indication starts to reappear and you have to go over the process again. Does anyone know of a permanent fix? Cheers, Rob
  7. Thanks guys. Freed off using "Old Growlers" method and put a little WD on it for good measure. Cheers, Rob
  8. Thanks Peter, Where would I apply the WD40? The window locks up like when it's gotten frozen overnight. Cheers, Rob.
  9. Hi all, new to the forum. Hope someone can help. I have a 2009 XFS Portfolio and having just picked it back up from Heathrow long stay after a fortnight away I found that the drivers window won't open. I have tried resetting it (as per this forum) but it hasn't worked. I hear the clicking as I try to open and close it and the window tries to move but doesn't open. Any ideas? Cheers, Rob.
