been there done that on the sills on my car. touch wood all ok, but will check in summertime. as ive got new rear calipers to fit on both sides along with new hand brake cables.

when I had my oil change on my 2004 2.0d I placed in ZX1 Extralube Micro Oil Metal Treatment cost around £17 for 250ml off ebay, plus I use a fuel additive, Genuine BG44K diesel Fuel System & Injector Cleaner cost £18 for 325ml..... ive had my jag for nearly 6yrs and runs fantastic,

hi Richard, the grille looks good....did you find any problems when doing it ? or did you find it a straight forward job. ( plus have you found other jobs to do on it!..... ) since your first recent post back in November,? with this cold weather my jobs are on hold till summertime. cheers dave.

I done a post on this in july where I used an old mobile phone buttons to replace my buttons on the key fob, please search the "x type forum" as this will help you, if you still have no luck with the remote then it may need a jaguar dealership to sort out.... which means it will cost you, good luck....dave

so it still works when manually done with the key, so that means you will hear the actuators work, plus the solenoids too. so all the chrome handles close inside the car? check when you press each button on key fob that they click ! as you may need new "tactile buttons" see previous posts on this issue as it will help you. ps hope it just needs a new battery ? but I had to put new buttons on mine, works like new now.

the route you can go down is pay out as peter has replied, or get in touch with a jaguar breaker, tell them what you need-and how much will it cost you, then either fit it yourself or get some one who will. just a thought for you......?

look on internet, for brake calipers reconditioned .( that is in your area..) .as they will come back like brand new. as for the cost? you will have to ask that question. good luck...

great to read that you do your own repairs and servicing on your car, it saves you loads of money when you do it yourself as labour rates/charges are way to high ! ( I too try and do my own repairs). look forward to seeing pictures of the jaguar plus if any of the recent repairs, keep up the good work on the jag and enjoy your rewards when driving.......dave

well its been some time since I took the jag out for a good run! so today me and my wife left Hinckley in Leicestershire taking a stop at a fuel station and placed £30 of diesel in the tank. so we taken the m6 motorway, then onto m54 all the way to shrewsbury ...( with cruise control on) then it was all ( A roads) with some lovely welsh countryside to take in. after a good 3hrs+ journey we ended up at barmouth..... the jag ran superb at an average motorway speed of 70/90mph, then when on the ( A roads) 50/60mph with a comfortable ride all the way there. everything worked to which button I pressed !..... it just made the journey so easy, but the best thing was when we got back at the end of the day ? it only cost in fuel £30 so ive given the old girl ( the jag) I good wash and clean, PS my wife says I love my jag more than her.....I wish I could answer that ? ? ?

if you can remember ......a few months ago I posted that I done my front discs and pads along with cleaning my front calipers, " with pictures" to which have now bedded in. I can say that they work great and stop the car good and straight with the ABS working to when I stop at speed. (yes they do make a bit of noise, but only if braking hard) so I'm looking forward to fitting the rear calipers plus discs/pads, brake cable, etc to the jag, when the weather gets hot and the nights are warm....all the best joe and thanks for your reply ....regards dave.

well after the MOT I had the advisory that the rear near side brake caliper is not fully releasing properly. but is still operating. so went on ebay and got me a pair of bosch rear calipers £130 for the pair. to which I shall fit in the spring or summer time, along with me new discs and pads + hand brake cable too. as always I shall post pictures when I do this job, but for now here are my new calipers and discs,.... but ive still got to purchase the hand brake cables.

well my jag went for its MOT and passed but had an advisory on the" rear n/s brake caliper not fully releasing", so another job for me to do in the summer.
