  1. Mine's so much more impresive. Anyway received the V750/1 form today, will be back in the post tomorrow. Gary M
  2. Update. I've done the deed off DVLA. I'll update as and when. Gary M
  3. We got there eventually. I've just e-mailed Denis to see if he still has one for sale. If so more questions may well follow. Thanks everyone. Gary M. PS picked the Freelander up today, it needed a new OS rear brake pipe for the MOT, at the same time a new petrol tank cradle as well as a new mount for the rear diff. Ouch.
  4. Well I found another connector: Is that what I need? Gary M.
  5. Didn't get chance today. Hippo in for MOT, needed a corroded rear O/S brake pipe as well as the petrol cradle replaced, plus San had a hospital appointment and the apple trees needed a prune. I love holidays. Will check tomorrow and get back. Gary M/
  6. Will do a bit more digging tomorrow. Ta for the advice. Gary M.
  7. Thanks chaps will give some serious thought. Gary M
  8. As the CDC is in the difficult drawer for now at least my thoughts are turning to an old dream of mine. A private Plate. Always fancied one and I'm now in a position to treat myself. Would love something along the lines of 57 YPE or V6 JAG but these are not available. Well not with my budget. What does one do with the MOT Certificate and Registration Document? Insurance is clear enough and straight forward. Gary M
  9. No problem Paul. Never mind. Gary M
  10. No Paul Gary M
  11. Removed the foam to find what appears to be a large connector? Wasn't able to open it as it seems to slide somehow? Anyway it looks as if I have what is necessary, what do folks think? Gary M.
  12. I'll try again tomorrow Joe, but that's about it. What does the connector look like? Gary M.
  13. Thought I'd submitted this yesterday Paul, it was just sitting there??? Gary M
  14. Here's what I have N/S boot. The small connector has 3/4 pins? Gary M
  15. Sorry for the late reply folks, work gets in the way sometimes. Off for a week now though. Well had a good look underneath the parcel shelf for a loom of some sort but nothing. Am I looking in the right place? Gary M
  16. I only have the single CD player in the centre console, bit of a pain. How easy is it to fit a multi-changer in the boot? Is the wiring loom in there somewhere and if so is just plug'n'play? Gary M
  17. Merry Christmas (bit late) and a Happy New Year. Spare for those who wil be working on the Saturday night. Like me. Gary M
  18. Just changed my driver's mirror which had power fold and memory and it had 14 wires.
  19. It was Paul, pity I had to swap the motor over though, thankfully not a big job. Used it last night for the first time and it all worked a treat, heating element clearing it in seconds, the adjustments all working and the folding nice and quiet. Just the wheels to refurb and the passenger vanity mirror to source for now, but I need change the fuel tank cradle on the Freelander next as it's coming up for its MOT, too big a job for me so extra costs involved, so other things will have to wait. Gary M.
  20. Well as it was dry and sunny decided it would go back together today. But before I did had a look to see if the mounting bracket was as corroded as the one I've taken off. No surprise it was. Here's the pivot, sorry didn't take one of the mounting bracket, but it was probably worse, at least it was in one piece. The connector was identical to the one I removed so was happy with that. Gave it a good clean and spray of WD40 before fitting. Put it on and connected everything up prior to replacing the door card and it didn't work. Well only partially. While it folded a lot smoother, easier and faster, the mirror itself would only adjust up and down and not in or out. Could hear the motor but no movement. Thankfully the original motor was nearby and three screws and a connector all was good. The joys of buying off Ebay eh? Oh and it adjusts with the memory seats too. Yippee. Gary M.
  21. Replacement arrived today. Strangely it has 14 wires on the connector, was advertised as 15? Hope it's dry on Saturday. Gary M.
  22. Do I need to unclip the mirror from the housing Paul for that. However they are memory as they adjust along with the seat. Thanks again Gary M. Edit: As I don't adjust the seats very often I rarely use the memory function. When I have I seem to recall only the N/S adjusting and not the O/S. So I think this is a replacement mirror and didn't have the memory function, hence only 14 wires, the 15th being the memory feed? Also one of the screws which hold the trim in place was loose and the large plastic trim on the hinge side was also loose, as well as the trim which fits around the window frame, so it had all been off and not replaced very well. Thankfully I have the Hippo so not in a desperate rush to get a replacement, however a new one is the thick end of £300.
  23. Sorry Paul I can't, however 1-11 are all occupied and 14,15,16 of the second row are. I've removed the small access cover on the bottom of the unit and it was even more badly corroded around the pivot, suspect the near side will be similar. Something for others to check I would advise. Thanks Gary M.
  24. The driver's powered door mirror has been a little sluggish to fold in since I bought it. A squirt of WD40 made things better but it was still there, also there was a gap between the plastic trim and door, so decided to investigate today and found this: The alloy backing plate is broken, guess it was a replacement as there are no missing parts to be found. I'm looking for a replacement and surprise, surprise not cheap, however mine has 14 wires on the loom, one I have seen has 15? Anyone know why the difference and the significance please? Gary M.
  25. I simply use the socket in the centre armrest for mine, if permanently wired in and the car is not used very often then you run the risk of a flat battery. Left the one on in the ZT and it ran the battery flat. Unless of course you could remember to switch it off.... Gary M.
