  1. Mine seem quite good, better than the Freelander and also better than my 06 ZT. Gary M.
  2. This may be helpful for others: Gary M
  3. Hi Peter There's a good few of us migrating from 75/ZTS on here. Sold my ZT in August for an S-Type. Wouldn't have moved to any other marque. Gary
  4. Bought my 3.0ltr in August at 54. Always fancied a Jaguar and the S-Type fits the bill for me perfectly.
  5. No I like it. Always liked duotoned cars, did think, for a moment, about having the ZT done. But think that my silver S-Type would look good with a black upper half. Gary M.
  6. It's possibly not moving because of lack of use? On other cars I have gently moved the mirror by hand to free it up and also sprayed behind it with WD40. However I would see what others advise first. Gary M.
  7. That doesn't look good, have you removed the sill covers? May be worth a look as some members have had big problems with them. Gary M.
  8. A good result Dave. Gary M.
  9. Thanks Rowley S-Types are 187x77 Gary M.
  10. Hi

I'm after a passenger illuminated sun visor for a facelift S-Type, all I need is the mirror and or the cover/lid.  Paul, aka Raistlin, says you may be able to help me out?

    Gary M.

  11. I have Dave, but X-Type ones seem more common? All I need is the cover so if the X-type and S-type are the same size I'll get me an X-type visor and jsut replace the cover, or even the mirror/cover. What are the measurements on yours please? Gary M.
  12. I've managed to break the passenger sun visor on my 55 plate S-Type. It's only the lid on the illuminated cover that I need, not the whole visor. They seem rare as hens teeth (and have the same price), however X-Type ones are far mor popular for some reason? Would some kind member measure one for me please so that I can see if they are the same size. Thanks in anticipation. Gary M.
  13. You need to identify what is causing the drain, 10a is quite a lot. Suggest you pull the fuses one at a time until the drain drops off, making a note of which ones you remove as you go along. Sure Paul will be along shortly to give you some more pointers. As for charging the battery, hopefully you are using a quality trickle charger - Ceetek are recommended, but if the terminal volts were that low it may be beyond recovery. Leave it on charge for at least a day anyway. Hi Dave by the way. Gary M.
  14. Stowmarket in very sunny and hot Suffolk. Some people say it's St. Owmarket???? Gary M.
  15. I thought that Joe but priced one up myself: https://www.britishparts.co.uk/products/5155-radiator-C2C36506 or here: http://www.jagspares.co.uk/Manners/partdetailalternate.asp?partno=C2C36506%23 and here: http://www.justjagsuk.com/product_details/-Jaguar-S-Type-X200-X350-X351-XF-Radiator/6347/623107/ Rimmer: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-C2C36506 OMG!!! Plus VAT is added of course. Also followed the links from the site, to be honest I would rather pay that little extra, all though no guarantee it will be any better of course. Besides I don't have the time at present, so busy at work as well as helping my better half with her recovery, so will bite the bullet, not worth the risk. I had enough worries with the 1.8ZT and its associated cooling issues. Besides knowing my luck it would all go pear shaped. Gary M.
  16. Just been told mine is going as well, quoted around £500 for a fitted replacement. Mines a 55 plate with 47k miles so does seem to be age/mileage related issue with the cars. Interesting that 2 owners have reported the same issue within a couple of days. Gary M.
  17. Thanks Simon. Looking in the h/b it shows these are winter tyre sizes? Wheels are 7.5Jx17. Will go for 235/50s I think, these are Conti's and seem a little noisy? Any recommends, liked Falcons on my ZT, but appreciate this is a different ball game. Gary M.
  18. Apart from the radiator new tyres will be required at sometime. Currently it has 245x45 17s, now Black Cirlces web page say they should be 235x50 17s, so to does K/F, has the previous owner fitted the incorrect sizes? Gary M.
  19. As I wasn't too sure on the last service decided to have one carried out today. Had a phone call.......... Radiator is going to need replacing, badly corroded. OK for now, but I'll get replaced somewhat sooner rather than later. Now that failing suddenly would no doubt have been costly. An unwanted expense, but better than the alternative. Oh dear. Gary M.
  20. But will it go to court do you think Paul? Gary M.
  21. Hi Josh I've just bought a 55 plate S-Type V6 3.0ltr and what a cracker. Nice and smooth, quiet, powerful enough for me and very comfortable. In fact everything you would want and expect from a Jaguar. Mine's an auto, think the manuals are a little rare? Only filled it up once but that gave me 26/gal, my ZT 1.8T only averaged 28/gal over the 5 or so year I owned it. As always advice is that you try before you buy and try as many as you can. Advice to me was the later the better, but with history. One of things to look for are the sills as these can be a problem area for rust, there's plenty on here though on that and other things to look out for. But take someome with you to view. It will fit the bill. Just do it as they say. Hope this helps. Gary M
  22. Hopefully the brakes wern't original Paul? Gary M.
  23. My recent purchase does not have the Touch Screen dash, if I felt the urge is it possible to fit one and how easy is it to do? Ta Gary M.
  24. A specialist near to me in Stowmarket (http://www.roachclassics.co.uk/) will do one for £310 - which is the same as a main dealer sadly. Apparently the key blade has to be cut by Jaguar for, I think £110(?), then there is the fob and the programming. Not cheap is it? Gary M.
