  1. +1 for an iffy battery.
  2. You could make a cheeky offer on this one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-20-JAGUAR-XKR-Senta-Cromodora-8-5J-front-alloy-wheel-/401239158588?hash=item5d6bb7af3c:g:SCIAAOSwnHZYSA7S P.s. I have no connection with the seller. Ah, just noticed it's a front wheel.
  3. I've had my 2007 2.7 d sport (loves to be driven exuberantly) for 8 months now and like you my daily trip to work is only a few miles, approx 4.5. Half of it is at 20 mph and half is stop start at about 5mph. Temperature gauge never reaches half way and I've had no problems with either egr valves nor dpf. HOWEVER, I do take it for a 25+ mile blast on the weekends to get some heat into the dpf, to blow the pipes through and to charge the battery, but mainly because I like driving it. I don't care too much about mpg figures as I measure my enjoyment by smiles per gallon...ha (Best mpg has been about 38). I should also add that I only use Shell V Power nitro plus fuel and once every 5 weeks I do a 300 mile round trip using mainly motorways. Just one more thing to note, a couple of weeks after I bought the car I had it Terra cleaned for piece of mind. Cheers Mark

    EGR Fault ?

Good to hear everything's sorted, and a few extra mpg can't be bad.
  5. Great news, keep grinning the miles away 👍

Hi Gary. I'm not sure if the info in the link below will help. http://repairpal.com/OBD-II-Code-P0405
  7. Hi and wecome
  8. Sorry to hear you've broken your ankle buddy, that's going to slow you down a bit. I'm liking the pictures of your old Jag with its shinny paintwork, very nice job you did there. In your previous post you mentioned using a glass sealant. I've not used one before and was thinking of getting some Gtechniq - G1 ClearVision Smart Glass. However, the application instructions seem to be quite restrictive, for this time of year, by quoting min temperatures etc. http://gtechniq.com/products/auto/perfect/exterior/paint/g1-clearvision-smart-glass. Can you recommend a couple of sealants that you use?
  9. Hello Jack, Welcome to the forum. Yes, I do and I really enjoy having a clean car with nice corrected paint. First job for winter protection was to check underneath and top up where necessary with various Dinitrol products. Took wheels off and washed them, removed arch liners, washed the car (BriteMax) double bucket, applied fallout cleaner (Korrosol), rinsed wheels and car, followed with a light claying (Auto Finesse), cleaner polish (Menzema) with a da, wipe with weak ipa solution, rinse, 2 coats of Bilt Hamber double speed wax, clean and protect rubber and plastic trim (Bouncers), clean glass (AG), clay and seal wheels (planet polish) dress tyres. ( hate doing wheels). Detailing spray (Bouncers Done and Dusted), for a bit of paint pop.
  10. Hi Ann, Welcome to the forum. I don't have any personal experience of car covers, as I looked into them and decided they weren't for me, as I like my paintwork too much. I went down the car detailing route of applying a good winter wax/sealant and adopting a regular cleaning routine. I realise this isn't for everyone, but I enjoy detailing my car and it works for me. I've spoken to many people about the pros and cons of using outdoor covers, and I've come to the conclusion they're more trouble than they're worth. IMO. The pros, Covers will keep bird muck and other undesirable pollutants off your paintwork. Some modern covers do let the car breath. Some will protect from UV damage. Some are paintwork simpathatically lined, reducing the chance of paint damage. IMO. The cons. Never put a cover on a dirty car, it will sandpaper your paint. Never put a cover on a wet car, rain is dirty, see above. A cheap cover will increase the chances of damaging your paintwork. Some covers don't allow the car to breath. An expensive cover could get stolen. Some come with an anti theft feature. Wet covers are a PITA to store and to dry. All covers will flap about in the wind increasing the chance of paint damage. Heavy dew/mist/fog will get under the cover, damp from whatever the car parked on will get under the cover. Flapping about in the wind will help to remove the damp. Removing and fitting covers is difficult, the inside shouldn't touch the ground. Below are few links to covers that are well thought of by others. (I have no affiliation to any of them) I bet someone comes along and says they bought a 50p tarpaulin from a boot sale 20 years ago and it's doing a sterling job as a cover with no paint damage 😩 http://www.specialisedcovers.com/car-covers http://www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk/ http://www.covercraft-europe.com/carcovers/custom_car_covers.html http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/advantex.html https://www.classicadditions.com/en-GB/outdoor-car-covers/custom-made-outdoor-car-cover/prod_10076

Thanks for the info. Think I'll just get the service done for now then.

Hi Gary. Pleased to hear you're happy with the outcome. Can I ask? Was it cheaper to have a full service and cam belt change done together? As apposed to booking the car in twice? I'm due a service in July and a 10 year cam belt in march. Just wondered if I should get the belt changed when the service is done.
  14. Hi Dave. Nice purchase there. Hope you enjoy cruising around the Peaks in your new aquisition.
  15. Hi. Nice car.....As a long term member of the forum...er...not really, I only joined yesterday! But hey, welcome.
  16. Hi GaryE. I'm sorry to hear you've had a few issues, and from your other post referring to the service and cam belt change farce, you're still having them. Hope it all gets resolved soon and you can start smiling again.
  17. Thank you for the welcome. How are you getting on with the jag? If you're like me you can't help grinning like a Cheshire cat when driving around...
  18. First jag bought last week and I'm 54. Just wished I could have afforded one earlier, but had to wait until the kids moved out..ha
  19. looks nice Peter. I see you also have the lumber adjustment, which unfortunately I don't. .😕
  20. Thank you for the welcome Raistlin Thank you for your welcome Peter. There I was thinking my jag was the only one around in that combo.......😆
  21. Hi All. Well, I've just gone and bought myself a jag, and to be honest I'm loving it. It's a 2007 S type 2.7 TD sport in grey with two tone light/dark grey leather interior. It's my first jag, and I'm beginning to realise I should have bought one years ago. Looking forward to learning more from, and contributing to, the forum in the future. Cheers Mark
